Algeria: Sonatrach'contract

January 18, 2018

Algerian state hydrocarbon company Sonatrach signed a contract with an Italian oil refinery that will allow the Algerian group to convert part of its crude oil to fuels, according to Sonatrach CEO Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour, cited by Algerian news agency APS. He said the company will rent equipment from the Italian refinery and import the finished product at lower prices. Kaddour said the contract was signed following an international call for tenders. Each year in Algeria, 11.5 million tons of fuels are refined to meet the country's 15-million-ton need.
