February 23, 2018

South Korea’s largest shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (HHI) has won a $58 million deal to build liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage tanks for a refining and petrochemical plant in Nigeria.

HHI said on Thursday it won an order from Nigeria’s Dangote Oil Refining Co. to deliver 15 units of liquefied petroleum gas storage tank that can contain 75,000 cubic meters of gas in total. It said it plans to start building the tanks in May. The 15 gas cylinders, each with a diameter of 8 meters and a height of 95 meters, will be installed at Dangote Oil Refining’s refining and petrochemical plant near Lagos in southwestern Nigeria. The first batch should be supplied in April 2019.
