Libya: 1.3 million barrels a day (bpd) of oil

October 25, 2018

Libya is producing up to 1.3 million barrels a day (bpd) of oil, the chairman of state oil firm NOC told Reuters on Wednesday.

Output was in a range of between 1.25 million bpd and 1.27 million bpd and sometimes reached 1.3 million bpd, Mustafa Sanalla said. "It goes up and down depending on maintenance," he said on the sidelines of an oil conference in the eastern city of Benghazi. Current production levels remain below the OPEC member's pre-civil war pumping rate of around 1.6 million bpd, but are at their highest since mid-2013, according to Reuters estimates. Separately, Waha Oil Co, majority-owned by state oil firm NOC, is producing about 300,000 barrels a day, a Waha executive told Reuters.
